Yeah - it does hurt doesn't it?
I hope you had a good birthday with your fam.
I'll be wishing on some stars for you and all adoptees tonight.
Thinking of you.

Wraith,

I'm sorry too. I hope your birthday went well, as much as they can royally suck. (I know mine did this year).

Why are we adoptees so scary? What is so wrong with being loved?

Wraith,
I'm an adoptee from a step adoption. I've been dealing with difficult documentation issues. I've found your blog and others like it but I'm having difficulty finding forums where these problems can be discussed. Can or anyone point me to some helpful forums or bulletin boards?

Thanks,
William

Let go of the fear that is holding you back and take a chance on your blood. Set yourself free of the shame or regrets. Whatever is holding you back, let it go and embrace us.

As always, I agree with you. Just have to add the above sentiment can be said by mothers as well.

Dear Wraith

I wish I could make your pain (and that of a mutual friend) go away.

However bad the circumstances were, I feel that mothers should ALWAYS be there for their flesh and blood, regardless of their own pain.

It saddens me no end that these mothers do not realise how fortunate they are that their sons and daughters want to know them. Many mothers I know would give their right arm (and more) to have their sons and daughters back in their lives.

If it is any consolation, here is one mother who is glad that you have been part of her life -
it is your voice that helps the many to stop being afraid of looking.

You give others the courage to do so.
That means a lot.

Take care.

And if you ever need to talk, let me know. I was initially rejected by my son for 2 years - I do understand a bit of the pain of hearing about successful reunions when your own is not happening or has not gone well.
