Wraith I know this is entirely frustrating but if you ever feel like trying again at the second hospital you may get someone more receptive. Birth records aren't destroyed (that I know of) they are archived. Often times you will get a LAZY person who just doesn't want to bother going to archives for you so they say the records are gone. We ran into this with a friend I was helping. The second call to the hospital provided a more receptive, younger woman who admitted the records were in archive.

Just out of curiosity the two births at the other hospital....just wondering how much later those other visits were? Just thinking if a second visit was made shortly after birth one of them could still be you.

I'm glad you had the opportunity to go to the agency. I think these social workers NEED to see us face to face so they can look our sadness in the eye. How wonderful of your parents to be right by your side through all of this. They understand it can only bring you closer. I wish more adoptive parents understood that.

Glad you're back. I hope on some level you had a healing time in FL.

Sorry Wraith, must be so discouraging to work so hard, get so little. Hope the trip to the Agency isn't a total bust and they treat you with respect.

Hi Dan, I sure hope you get to be back with your wife and your Scott very soon.I'm so proud of you and Carolyn for just going ahead and searching out any info you could.Very brave on both of your parts and am sad to hear you aren't getting to write yet that you found the hospital and your birth records. You didn't let the fear get the best of you-way to go!
