And as an aside, today I did my presentation on adoption and adolescents and I made sure to address the casual comments/jokes people often make about adoption and looks and all that. One of my classmates shared a story about how she commented on the similar looks of two siblings and was told by them that they had been adopted. I'd like to think that I opened up a few minds because all I could think about was how my daughter would feel if those comments were made around her. It just seems to be something people don't think about. Happy Birthday!
